Fossil Fuels

There's a number of sources floating around talking about fossil fuels being made in ways not needing fossils. The issue is that most rock involves carbon, and yet the difference between organic and inorganic being different in different fields, in chemistry it just needs carbon, or sometimes also hydrogen, in biology in needs carbon from life. These boundaries are where the confusion arises that allows them to fudge the numbers.
Cornell University’s Dr Thomas Gold (1920–2004) argued that oil is a “renewable primordial soup continually manufactured by the earth under ultrahot conditions and tremendous pressures. As this substance migrates toward the surface, it is attacked by bacteria, making it appear to have an organic origin dating back to the dinosaurs.”[1]
Sweden’s Royal Institute of Technology, through Vladimir Kutcherov, says his research team conclusively demonstrated that “crude oil and natural gas are generated without the involvement of fossils.”[2]
Kutcherov and his team simulated the deep underground to look at how organic matter could be generated from inorganic minerals via heat and pressure.[3]
Kutcherov also noticed that there some oil, in this case Vietnam, that pumps it from rocks that don't line up with the fossil fuel idea, such as granite.[4]
